Readers Response 1

The Throne of Fire
Rick Riordan
p.1-p.452
9.0/10.0

Whew. I was really scared about this book not being very good, seeing as the Red Pyramid failed to live up to my expectations. I had no need to worry. This series is back on track. One thing the Throne of Fire does is keep the story interesting and add a exciting, fresh plot line. The challenge of writing this book was that it was the second in a trilogy, and you can't just make up new characters and random new things to the story. You have to work with the stuff you introduce in the first book, and if that isn't very good, it's pretty hard to craft a good second novel. With all that in consideration, Riordan has written a pretty amazing 2nd book. Again. In fact, the trilogy kind of reminds me of Wishology, a FairlyOdd Parents cartoon trilogy. The titles for the 3 1hr. episodes were: "The Big Beginning", "The exciting middle part," and "The Final Ending". The Red Pyramid was "big", and maybe I've judged it a little too harshly, but the Throne of Fire was certainly exciting. All that's left is the final ending, Egyptian style.
